RollingStone.com is throwing one hellava good party during the Austin City Limits Festival- with The Cool Kids, Voxtrot, and Belaire. The Cool Kids- maybe you’ve heard of them. I saw them 6,743,923,792 times during SXSW, and every show was packed and bumpin. It’s hard to not love Peachcake the first time you seem them, even though they seem sort of novelty-actish when they first roll out with those animal masks and strange yellow felt panda/horse/dino suits. But their energy is dynamic enough that they have driven full grown adults into games of limbo on the glass ridden floors of Emo’s. If you EVER read The Orphan Review, you know about my obsession with Jared Van Fleet (Voxtrot)’s solo project, Sparrow House. The first E.P. released under that name, Falls (2006) was totally out of this word and I am pleased to announce that a follow up is on the way.
